The clerk shall perform such duties as are prescribed in the statutes of the state and amendments thereto. He or she shall give a bond with good and sufficient sureties acceptable to the council in the penal sum of fifteen thousand dollars. The clerk may also hold the position and perform the duties of water collector and/or treasurer concurrently with his or her position as clerk.
