2.08.040   Police judge—Duties—Bond.
   The duties, powers and authority of the police judge are such as are mentioned in the statutes of the state and amendments thereto. The police judge shall give a bond to the city with two good sureties acceptable to the council in the penal sum of one thousand dollars. He shall receive as compensation the same fees as are allowed by law to the justice of the peace, or in lieu thereof, a stated monthly salary to be fixed by the council. He shall present to the council, monthly, a report in writing showing the number of cases tried in his court for offenses against the laws of the city, accompanied by a receipt from the treasurer for all fines and costs collected.
