§ 170.38 Limitation on number of wells
In the event oil in paying quantities should be discovered in any drilling block as shown by the Official Drilling Plat, or for any other reason more than one well shall be permitted and drilled within any such drilling block, the entire drilling block shall be treated as and conclusively deemed attributable proportionately to each and every lot or ownership within such drilling block. It is the purpose of this section to limit the number of wells drilled within such developed portion of the city to the smallest number of wells which will suffice to fully and economically develop and produce the oil, gas, and minerals thereunder, in the interests of the public health, safety, and welfare.
