(a) The city will make a good faith effort to maintain a drug free workplace by complying with the requirements of the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988, enhancing the health, safety, and security of employees and the public, and providing more cost efficient delivery of city services.
(b) The city prohibits the unlawful manufacture, distribution, dispensation, possession, or use of a controlled substance or alcohol by any employee of the city.
(c) All applicants for employment with the city will be required to undergo a drug screening and confirmation test, when required by this policy.
