The office of City Health Officer is hereby created. The office shall be filled by appointment of the Mayor with the consent of the City Council for an indefinite term. The health officer shall be person trained in the field of sanitary science and technology who is qualified to carry out educational and inspection duties and enforce the laws in the field of sanitation. He shall be compensated in an amount as determined by the City Council.
