(A) The mayor, or acting mayor, when presiding in the mayor's court, may punish persons guilty of the following acts:
(1) Disorderly, contemptuous, or insolent behavior toward the mayor, so presiding, tending to interrupt the due course of trial, or other judicial proceedings before the mayor.
(2) A breach of the peace, boisterous conduct, or violent disturbance, tending to interrupt the due course of a trial, or other judicial proceedings.
(3) Willful resistance in the presence of the mayor to the execution of a lawful order, or process, made or issued by the mayor.
(B) A warrant or arrest may be issued by the mayor, on which the person charged with such contempt may be arrested and brought before the mayor's court. Such a person shall be given an opportunity to be heard in defense or excuse. The mayor may discharge or convict such person for the offense.
(C) Violation of this section is a minor misdemeanor.
