Effective February 6, 1996, compensation for a parking enforcement officer shall be at the rate as set forth by City Council from time to time. This compensation rate shall be subject to future wage adjustments approved by the City Council. This section does not prohibit the Safety Service Director from appointing persons described in § 33.51, who are volunteers or persons with physical disabilities, who may be compensated at less than the ordained rate, provided that the City Council approves the funding for such appointments.
