§ 33.26 PART-TIME FIREMEN.
   (A)   Requirements.
      (1)   Any part-time fireman who is 65 years of age or older must furnish to the safety-service director annually a doctor’s certificate stating that he is fully capable of performing any task connected with the job of fire fighting.
      (2)   Any part-time fireman not reporting for his assigned duty for at least 50% of the alarms in a year’s time shall be dismissed unless he is on leave of absence. The leave shall be granted by the safety-service director for sickness or temporary disability. This leave of absence shall not extend over a period of more than one year.
   (B)   Supervision. Part-time firemen will at all times be under the supervision of the ranking regular fireman.
   (C)   Reporting for duty. All part-time firemen shall be required to work according to the work schedule put forth by the fire chief, or in the absence of the fire chief, by the next in command. Absent an emergency, part-time firemen shall not be scheduled to work more than 212 hours in a 28-day period, nor more than 1,500 hours in one calendar year.
   (D)   Medical protection. Part-time fire personnel shall be provided certain medical protection, which is also provided to the full-time personnel, which includes vaccinations, flu shots, hepatitis shots, booster shots, and Titer shots. Successful applicants for positions as part-time fire personnel shall receive a baseline physical examination at the discretion of the fire chief.
