Upon reasonable request, the Director of Public Safety or his/her designee shall have the right to inspect the records maintained pursuant to the preceding section. In addition, the Director of Public Safety or his/her designee shall have the right, if he/she has reasonable cause to believe there is a violation of this chapter, to inspect any rental unit to investigate any violation or alleged violation of this chapter.
