11-3-4: STREET AND AREA LIGHTING:
   A.   No plat of any new subdivision will be approved by the Village President and Board of Trustees unless same provides for street (area) lighting by any of the following means:
      1.   By use of luminaires which shall be either mercury vapor or sodium vapor. The poles shall be polished aluminum with aluminum bracket arms. The poles shall be spaced approximately two hundred fifty feet (250') apart such that the average horizontal foot-candles shall be a minimum of 0.2. The design and installation shall be in accordance with the current minimum standards as set forth by the American Society of Illuminating Engineers. Wooden poles will not be allowed nor will bracket arms secured to existing wooden utility poles be allowed.
      2.   By requiring in covenants covering the subdivision that the owners of every lot shall erect and maintain one yard light located in the front yard. Each yard light shall be approximately six feet (6') in height, be equipped with a photoelectric cell that illuminates the light during the hours of darkness and be such that a seventy five (75) to one hundred (100) watt incandescent light bulb can be safely used.
      3.   Any other means which is in accordance with current minimum standards as set forth by the American Society of Illuminating Engineers.
   B.   Final selection for lighting is to be approved by the Village President and Board of Trustees.
   C.   Upon completion of the installation of the street (area) lighting system, a set of as built plans shall be filed with the Village Clerk. If street (area) lighting is to be provided by individual front yard lights, as built plans will not be required. (Ord. 91-6, 10-7-1991)
