A. Office Created: There is hereby created the office of building inspector. (1990 Code § 14.102)
B. Appointment: The building inspector shall be appointed by the Village President, by and with the consent of the Village Board of Trustees. (1990 Code § 14.114)
C. Duties:
1. It shall be the duty of the building inspector to enforce all ordinances relating to the erection, construction, alteration, repair, and the safe removal of all buildings. (1990 Code §§ 14.102, 14.114; amd. 2019 Code)
2. The building inspector shall inspect and examine all plans for buildings and repairs. (1990 Code § 14.114)
3. The building inspector shall issue permits, collect fees, make all inspections for buildings, make open wall inspections for wiring, plumbing, etc., and make final inspections including cleanup, road repair, etc. (1990 Code § 14.115; amd. 2019 Code)
D. Compensation: The salary of the building inspector shall be in such amount as shall be set by the Village President and Board of Trustees. (1990 Code § 14.102; amd. 2019 Code)
