The purpose of this chapter is:
(A) To require persons who generate mixed construction and demolition debris (C&D debris) from a project involving the construction, remodeling or demolition of a building or structure 1,000 square feet or greater, in an unincorporated area of Chatham County, and requires a Chatham County building or demolition permit, to provide for the transportation of such debris off site to a licensed C&D facility that is able to process and divert from a landfill at least 30% of C&D debris annually; and
(B) To require persons with C&D sites subject to this chapter to maintain records of all C&D debris disposed (disposal records) for a period of one year after project completion, for the purpose of inspection by the Chatham County Solid Waste and Recycling Division.
