Any person or anyone acting in behalf of a person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not more than $500 and the costs of prosecution or, in default of the payment thereof, by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed 90 days or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate violation.
