SECTION 11.1. NUMBER OF SUPERVISORS.
The city shall be entitled to four representatives upon the Board of Supervisors of Eaton County, until such time as the city may be entitled by law to a larger number of representatives. One of such representatives shall be the Mayor, and one shall be the Assessor. If the Mayor cannot serve regularly in such capacity, a member of the Council designated by the Council shall serve in his stead. The Mayor shall appoint persons who are familiar with the city's business to fill the remaining positions to which the city is entitled on the Board of Supervisors, subject to confirmation by the Council. Appointed Supervisors shall be appointed and confirmed during the month of December in even numbered years, to assume office on the first day of January following. In the event that the city becomes entitled to any additional representative, such appointment shall be made forthwith after such eligibility occurs for a term ending on the first day of January of the next odd numbered year. Except in such first instances, the term of office of each such Supervisor shall be for two years, commencing on and dating from the first day of January following his appointment.
