(A) (1) There is hereby established in the government of the city, in addition to existing executive departments, a Department of Redevelopment, to be known as the city’s Department of Redevelopment, which is under the control of a board of five members to be known as the city’s Redevelopment Commission.
(2) The Mayor of the city must appoint three members, and the Council must appoint two members, of the city’s Redevelopment Commission.
(3) The duly appointed members must meet within 30 days after their appointment at a time and place designated by the Mayor, for the purpose of organization.
(B) The city’s Redevelopment Authority is hereby created as a separate body corporate and politic and as an instrumentality of the city to exercise all power granted to the authority under and pursuant to I.C. 36-7-14.5-1 et seq., as well as other powers and authority that the Common Council might hereafter grant unto it.
