A. Single Occupancy Units:
1. All single-family dwelling units shall hereafter be metered separately. A "single-family dwelling unit" is defined as a detached building designed or erected for and occupied exclusively by one family or household.
2. All single occupancy business enterprises shall also hereafter be metered separately. A "single occupancy business enterprise" is defined as a detached building designed or erected for and occupied exclusively by one business enterprise.
B. Multiple Occupancy Units: Multiple dwelling units within a single structure or multiple business enterprises within a single structure may either be metered separately or jointly. A "multiple dwelling unit or business enterprise" is defined as a detached building designed or erected for two (2) or more separate dwellings or businesses. Each such structure shall have at least one meter. Multiple dwelling or business enterprise structures shall hereafter not be jointly metered. (Ord. 74-O-37, 10-15-1974)
C. Installation Of Water Meters: No meter shall be installed under the provisions of this chapter for any structure until such time as during the course of the construction of such structure and the construction grade is established and set. The cost of meters damaged and the repairs thereof during the course of said construction and establishment of the final grade shall be the responsibility of the property owner.
