7-4-1: DEFINITIONS:
When used in this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
CITY: The city of Charleston, Coles County, Illinois.
CUSTODIAN: Refers to any lessee of land owned by the city within the vicinity of Lake Charleston.
DRAINAGE AREA: That entire area of land and water that drains into Lake Charleston from the Embarras River and its tributaries upstream of Riverview Dam.
LAKE CHARLESTON: Both the lower reservoir and the side channel reservoir including all dams, dikes and appurtenances related to the formation of said reservoirs.
LOWER RESERVOIR: The artificial lake and water impounded therein by means of the Riverview Dam, commonly known as the "spillway", located across the Embarras River.
MARGINAL LAND: The land owned or controlled by the city adjacent to the shoreline of Lake Charleston.
SIDE CHANNEL RESERVOIR: The artificial lake and water impounded therein by means of dike construction in a general north-south alignment across the lake bed of Lake Charleston.
WAKE: A disturbance of water caused by a boat propelled by an internal combustion engine in excess of five (5) miles per hour. (Ord. 82-O-7, 4-20-1982)
