4-1-2: AMBULANCE RATES:
   A.   The base rates applicable to all calls for service to the residents of the City, which includes full time students of EIU, shall be five hundred dollars ($500.00) for a basic life-support, seven hundred eighty three dollars ($783.00) for advanced life support, nine hundred thirty eight dollars ($938.00) for advanced life support II, and mileage at fifteen dollars ($15.00) per loaded mile.
   B.   The base rates applicable to all calls for service to non-residents of the City, and those who reside outside the City limits shall be seven hundred five dollars ($705.00) for a basic life support, one thousand one hundred seventeen dollars ($1,117.00) for advanced life support, one thousand three hundred forty dollars ($1,340.00) for advanced life support II, and mileage at fifteen dollars ($15.00) per loaded mile.
   C.   Disposable medical supplies used in patient treatment by the Municipal ambulance service shall be charged to the patient(s) on a current cost basis as shall be determined by the Fire Chief.
   D.   The fee for non-emergency standby service to any commercial enterprise shall be one hundred dollars ($100.00) per hour with the exception of Coles County Fair Association for the annual Coles County Fair, Charleston Community Unit #1 sporting events, and Eastern Illinois University sporting events.
   E.   In lieu of the base rate, ALS emergency calls that do not result in transportation by the ambulance shall be billed at one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) for a resident and one hundred seventy five dollars ($175.00) for a nonresident.
   F.   A fee of seventy five dollars ($75.00) will be charged when a third medic is utilized.
   G.   The fee for extrication services shall be five hundred dollars ($500.00) for nonresidents.
   H.   Resident and nonresident public service calls will be assessed a charge of fifty dollars ($50.00) per incident, after exceeding five (5) requests per calendar year at the discretion of the Fire Chief.
   I.   Ambulance fees shall automatically increase by three (3) percent, rounded to the nearest dollar, annually, beginning on May 1st of each year. (Ord. 19-O-18, 4-16-2019; amd. Ord. 20-O-11, 4-21-2020; Ord. 21-O-9, 4-20-2021)
