(A) The Arts and Culture Commission shall consist of a total of five voting (plus one youth member if appointed as provided below), no fewer than three of whom reside within the corporate limits of the Village of Channahon, and up to two of whom while not residing in the village, either own a business in the village, are employed within the village, or live within the townships of Channahon, Troy, or AuxSable. Additionally, a village staff member shall serve as the liaison to the Commission. This staff person shall provide logistical staff support as needed.
(B) Members shall be appointed by the Village President with advice and consent of the Village Board of Trustees. The members shall be appointed on the basis of expertise, experience, and interest in visual, performing, and literary arts.
(C) From time to time, the Village President may appoint and the Village Board may approve the appointment of one youth member who is a resident of the Village of Channahon to the Channahon Arts and Culture Commission. The youth member shall be between the age of 14 and 18, or has reached the age of 18 but has yet to complete their senior year of high school. This member shall have a one-year term renewable by Village President and Board appointment and which will end upon the member's eighteenth birthday (unless still in high school as provided above) or the expiration of the term, whichever is later.
(D) The Village President, with advice and consent of the Village Board of Trustees, may remove individual Arts and Culture Commission members.
