§ 116.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   BUSINESS ENTITY. Any person, firm, partnership or corporation who has or engages a peddler or solicitor in its behalf.
   CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION. Any patriotic, philanthropic, social service, welfare, athletic, political, benevolent, education, civic or fraternal organization which was organized and exists as a not-for-profit entity.
   PEDDLING. The door-to-door sale or offering for sale of property or services, for immediate delivery, from other than a fixed place of business on private property. It shall not include a service person who is responding to a prior call. PEDDLING also does not include the sale of goods by charitable organizations for charitable purposes.
   PERSON. Any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, or entity.
   SOLICITING. The door-to-door selling, offering for sale or solicitation of offers to purchase property or services of any kind, for any kind of consideration, for future delivery from other than a fixed place of business. It shall not include a service person who is responding to a prior call. SOLICITING also does not include the sale of goods by persons conducting fundraising activities for charitable organizations.
