(A) A certain document, three copies of which are on file in the Office of the Village Clerk of the Village of Channahon being marked and is designated as ‘The 2021 International Residential Code,” as published by International Code, is hereby adopted as the One- and Two-Family Building Code of the Village of Channahon in the State of Illinois; for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said International Residential Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in the Ordinance, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in division (B) of this section. In the event of a conflict between the 2021 International Residential Code, as heretofore or hereafter amended, and any ordinance of the Village of Channahon, including but not limited to any additions, insertions, deletions and changes prescribed in division (B) of this section, the ordinance shall prevail and be given effect.
(B) The following sections are hereby revised as follows:
(1) Section R101.1: Insert “Village of Channahon”.
(2) Section R110.1: Delete #2 under “Exceptions”. Accessory Buildings or Structures.
(3) Section R105.2: Delete #1, #2, #4, #5, and #10 under “Building”.
(4) Chapters 25, 26,27,28,29, 30, 31 and 32 of the 2021 International Plumbing codes are to be deleted and the 2018 or current State of Illinois Plumbing Code is to be added in its entirety.
(5) R 102.5 The following Appendices shall be adopted:
1. Appendix AA: Sizing and Capacities of Gas Piping.
2. Appendix AB: Sizing of Venting Systems servicing appliances equipped with draft hoods. Category 1 appliances and appliances listed for use and type 8 vents.
3. Appendix AC: Exit terminals of mechanical draft and draft venting systems.
4. Appendix AE: Manufactured Housing
5. Appendix AF: Radon Control Methods.
6. Appendix AH: Patio covers.
7. Appendix AJ: Existing buildings and Structures.
8. Appendix AK Sound Transmission
9. Appendix AM: Home Day Care- R.3 Occupancy
10. Appendix AV: Board of Appeals.

(6) R 106.1 Submittal Documents: To read: Two sets of construction documents and one electronic version for all single and two family residence, multi-family, condominiums, and townhomes. Documents shall be signed and sealed by a registered design professional and/or approved by the Chief Building Official. No out of State drawings permitted without a seal from an Illinois registered design professional.
(7) R 108.5 Refunds: Delete Existing Sentence in its entirety.
(8) Section R 301.2 Village of Channahon Table for Climate and Geographic design criteria.

(9) IRC 2021 section R313 One and Two Family residential fire sprinklers are not to be adopted.
(10) Special conditions and test: When special conditions exist or arise during construction which necessitates additional precautions, the Building Official may require work and/or testing in excess standard requirements at the owner's expense.
(11) Site Preparation: No excavation, stripping of organic material or removal of vegetable matter shall be done before drawing with elevations are submitted and approved by the Village of Channahon Community Development and Engineering.
(12) Porta-Johns: Per the State of Illinois Plumbing code porta-johns shall be placed on the job site to ensure public safety, health and welfare of the public. If a builder has multiple job sites within a subdivision, a porta-john shall be placed a maximum of 500 feet apart.
(13) Erosion Control: Effective Erosion control shall be followed during all earth moving, storage and placement of soils. No sediments shall leave the site as required by the Village engineer and Building Official. Silt Fence or other erosion control materials when required and shall be maintained until final site work is completed.
(14) ****IRC Section 101: Delete the words “this code” and add the 2018 State of Illinois Plumbing Code.
(15) Chapters 25, 26,27,28,29,30,31 and 32 of the 2015 ICC Plumbing Code are to be deleted and the 2018 State of Illinois Plumbing Code is to be added in its entirety.
(16) Section AJ301 “Repairs”, AJ301.1.2 “Plumbing Materials and Supplies”: After the phrase “Shall not use,” add, “unless in full compliance with the 2018 Illinois State Plumbing Code.”
(17) Section AJ301 “Repairs”, AJ301.2 Water Closets: Delete the words “Section P2903.2 and add the 2018 State of Illinois Plumbing Code.
(18) Section AJ301.4 Electrical Exceptions Numbers 1,2, and 3: And add the 2014 National Electric Code.
(19) Section AJ501 “Alterations”, AJ501.5.1 Electrical Equipment and Wiring: And add the 2020 National Electric Code.
(20) Section AJ501 “Alterations”, AJ501.5.1 Electrical Equipment and Wiring, Exception: And add the 2020 National Electric Code.
(21) Section AJ501 “Alterations”, AJ501.5.3.5 Clearance: And add the 2020 National Electric Code.
(22) Section R301.(l): refer to this section in Code for CLIMATIC AND GEOGRAPHIC DESIGN CRITERIA table.
(23) Section 903.4 ROOF DRAINAGE: Delete this section in its entirety and insert the following in lieu thereof: “that will collect and discharge all roof drainage to the ground surface at least 5 feet (1,524mm) from foundation walls or to an approved drainage system.”
(24) Chapters 25 (PLUMBING ADMINISTRATION), 26 (GENERAL PLUMBING REQUIREMENTS), 27 (PLUMBING FIXTURES), 28 (WATER HEATERS), 29 (WATER SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION), 20 (SANITARY DRAINAGE), 31 (VENTS), AND 32 (TRAPS): Delete these Chapters in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof: Chapter 25 (PLUMBING ADMINISTRATION}, Section 2501.1 SCOPE: the design and installation of plumbing systems, including sanitary and storm drainage, sanitary facilities, water supplies and storm water and sewage disposal in buildings, shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois State 2018 Plumbing Code.
