No license, except Class D, shall be issued under this chapter for a period of less than one calendar year, unless the same is issued pursuant to application made subsequent to the first day of any calendar year, in which event the license shall be issued for the remaining period of the year, and no license shall be issued for a period of more than one year. All licenses issued hereunder shall be valid from January 1 to December 31 of each year.
