All territory hereinafter to be annexed to the village shall conform to the system of numbering provided in this subchapter. Maps shall be prepared of all streets required to be numbered, drawn to an accurate scale showing all intersection streets and the location of the front of all houses and each front entrance of the same. The whole length of streets shall be divided into spaces or lots of 20 feet frontage as herein provided. A number shall be given for each space, and the number coinciding most nearly with the location of any front entrance shall be the number of the same. Consecutive numbers shall be placed directly opposite on lines at right angles to the street. All numbers placed on houses under this subchapter shall be indicated on such maps. The maps shall be kept on file in the office of the Village Clerk.
