§ 99.02 LICENSE PERMIT PROCESS.
   (A)    An applicant for a license for the keeping chickens or for a building permit for any pen, coop, building or other enclosure used for the housing of chickens must submit the following:
      (1)   Completed application on forms provided by the village.
      (2)   A current plat of survey accurately depicting the location of the proposed structure housing hens on the applicant's property.
      (3)   All required coop and pen documentation and fees as listed in the application form. The building permit fee for a pen, coop, building or other enclosure used for the housing of chickens shall be the same fee as for a shed.
   (B)   A license for the keeping of chickens and a building permit for a structure for the keeping of chickens shall not be granted unless the applicant can show proof that a proposed structure complies with all provisions of village code.
   (C)   A license for the keeping of chickens and a building permit for a structure for the keeping of chickens shall not be transferable or run with the land and shall terminate and become invalid upon the licensee no longer occupying the property for which the license and permit were issued.
   (D)   The required license fee for a license for the keeping of chickens is $50 plus the required building permit fee. The building permit fee for a pen, coop, building, or other enclosure used for the housing of chickens shall be the same fee as for a shed.
   (E)   The license shall be renewed annually.
      (1)   The Village Clerk shall send written notification of license renewal and investigation 60 days prior to expiration date.
      (2)   Failure to renew prior to expiration of license may result in a penalty of $10 per day first five days; $20 per day second five days, $30 per day third five days. After 15 days, noncompliance will result in loss of license.
