10-10-2: DEFINITIONS:
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
BUILDING CODE: The BOCA basic building code adopted in chapter 1 of this title.
CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: The legally designated health authority of the city or his authorized representative.
DEPENDENT MOBILE HOME: A mobile home which does not have a flush toilet and a bath or shower. For purposes of regulation under this chapter, a "dependent mobile home" shall be considered to be the same as a dependent travel trailer, unless otherwise specified.
DEPENDENT TRAVEL TRAILER: A travel trailer which does not have a flush toilet and a bath or shower.
FIA OR FEDERAL INSURANCE ADMINISTRATOR AND FLOOD HAZARD MAP: See definition of "flood insurance rate map (FIRM)" in section 13-1-3 of this code.
FREESTANDING MOBILE HOME OR TRAVEL TRAILER: Any mobile home or travel trailer not located in a mobile home park or travel trailer park, respectively, licensed by the city or in an approved mobile home subdivision.
INDEPENDENT TRAVEL TRAILER: A travel trailer which has a flush toilet and a bath or shower.
MHI: Manufactured housing institute.
MMH: Manufactured or modular housing.
MANUFACTURED OR MODULAR HOME SUBDIVISION: A subdivision designed and intended for residential use where residence is in manufactured or modular homes exclusively and manufactured or modular home lots are sold for occupancy.
MOBILE HOME: A structure, transportable in one or more sections, which is built on a permanent chassis and designed to be used with or without a permanent foundation when connected to the required utilities. It does not include recreational vehicles or travel trailers. Compliance with the Chandler subdivision regulations is required. For the purpose of this chapter, the terms "mobile home" and "manufactured housing" are interchangeable for units larger than three hundred twenty (320) square feet of floor space.
MOBILE HOME SPACE: A plot of ground within a mobile home park designed for the accommodation of one mobile home and not located in a mobile home sales lot.
MOBILE OR MODULAR HOME PARK: Any plot of ground upon which two (2) or more mobile homes, occupied for dwelling or sleeping purposes, are located, regardless of whether or not a charge is made for such accommodations.
MODULAR HOME: A single, detached dwelling designed or used as long term living quarters, which is transported, after off site fabrication, to a site where it is ready for occupancy and permanently located. A modular home does not have a chassis with axles and wheels, but is normally hauled to the permanent home site and shall be placed on a prepared foundation.
NATIONAL MOBILE HOME CONSTRUCTION AND SAFETY STANDARDS ACT OF 1974, SECTION 604: Means 42 USC 5401 et seq., and regulations of the UN-16 department of housing and urban development.
NONRESIDENTIAL MOBILE TRAILER: Any vehicle having the basic characteristics of either a mobile home or travel trailer, but which is used for purposes other than residential and is not being offered for sale (as indicated by a clearly displayed sign on or near the trailer).
PARK: A mobile home park and/or travel trailer park.
PERSON: Natural individual, firm, trust, partnership, association or corporation.
PUBLIC WATER SYSTEM OR PUBLIC SEWER SYSTEM: Any such system built and owned by, or dedicated to and accepted by, the city. All other such systems are private.
SERVICE BUILDING: A building housing toilet and bathing facilities for men and/or women, and may also include buildings containing laundry facilities as required by this chapter or desired by the park operator.
SUBDIVISION: Mobile home subdivision unless otherwise indicated.
TRAVEL TRAILER: All vehicles and portable structures built on a chassis, designed as a temporary or permanent dwelling for travel, recreational, and vacation use, including tent trailers and motor driven vehicles, and "independent travel trailers" and "dependent travel trailers" as defined in this section.
TRAVEL TRAILER PARK: Any plot of ground on which two (2) or more travel trailers occupied for dwelling or sleeping purposes are located.
TRAVEL TRAILER SPACE: A plot of ground within a travel trailer park designed for accommodation of one travel trailer. (1985 Code § 12-502; amd. 2003 Code)
