No person operating a motor vehicle who has received a visual or audible signal directing the operator to bring his vehicle to a stop shall wilfully increase his speed or extinguish his lights or in any other manner attempt to or actually elude such law enforcement officer. A "visual or audible signal", for the purpose of this section, means a red light or a siren from a law enforcement officer driving a motor vehicle with insignia showing the same to be an official police, sheriff, or highway patrol car.
