6-1-1: POLICE DEPARTMENT AND CHIEF:
   A.   Department Created; Chief Appointed: There shall be a police department, the head of which shall be the chief of police, appointed by the city manager for an indefinite term, and removable by the manager.
   B.   Duties Of Chief: The chief of police shall be an officer of the city, and shall have supervision and control of the police department.
   C.   Additional Officers: There may be such additional police officers as the city council may authorize. All police officers shall be officers of the city. (1985 Code § 13-501)
