In case of a break in the line of any street or in the case of a street not crossing or terminating on any of the streets serving as base line, or the approximate prolongation thereof, for the purposes of numbering these streets, they shall be assigned the same numbers as would have been assigned had the streets been straight and continuous from one of the base lines.
