§ 93.01 DEFINITIONS.
For purposes of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
BUILDING. Any structure maintained for residential, business, commercial, industrial, recreational, or other purposes. However, for purposes of numbering buildings, the term BUILDING shall be construed to apply to the primary or major structure located on a lot or lots and shall not be construed to include any subsidiary or secondary structure which is used for the benefit of the primary structure; provided, however, that any building which has an independent use not associated with the primary structure, shall be considered as requiring a separate number. By way of explanation, a shed, storage building, unattached garage or carport, animal house or kennel or tool shed shall not be considered as a separate building. However, a mobile home being occupied by persons living independently of the primary structure shall be considered as a building for the purposes of this chapter and shall require separate numbering which may be by designation as the primary number plus one-half.
PUBLIC WAY. A sidewalk, street, highway, alley, bridge, square, or another open space to which the public has access, as of right or by invitation, expressed or implied.
RIGHT-OF-WAY. Any area over which a public right-of-way exists, including the strip of land used by a public way; the strip of land used by a railroad; and the strip of land used by a public utility.
