§ 35.035 PURPOSE AND SCOPE.
   (A)   The town has established guidelines governing public information, media contacts, and the release of information to news media representatives. The town is committed to informing the community via the news media of events within the public domain that are handled by or involve the town. The town shall make every effort to immediately notify appropriate and interested news media when involved in or has information of newsworthy items. Complete cooperation with members of the media will be maintained.
   (B)   The town has established guidelines for the creation and use of the town’s social media sites. Maintaining and updating social media sites will be used strictly for conveying information about the town to the public. The town’s official website http://chalmers.in.gov/ will be the primary internet presence. Other social media sites may be used upon authorization from the Town Council. Whenever possible, all authorized social media sites shall be linked back to the town’s official website.
