1-6-3: POWERS AND DUTIES:
   A.   Signatures: The clerk shall seal and attest all contracts of the village, and all licenses, permits and other documents as shall require this formality. (1995 Code § 1.303)
   B.   Monies Collected: The clerk shall turn over all monies received by him on behalf of the village to the village treasurer promptly on receipt of the same, and with such monies, he shall give a statement as to the source thereof. (1995 Code § 1.305)
   C.   Accounts: The clerk shall keep accounts showing all monies received by him and the source and disposition thereof, and such other accounts as may be required by statute or ordinance. (1995 Code § 1.306)
   D.   Records: In addition to the record of ordinances and other records which the clerk is required by statute to keep, he shall keep a register of all licenses and permits issued and the payments thereon, a record showing all of the officers and regular employees of the village, and such other records as may be required by the board. (1995 Code § 1.307)
   E.   Documents: The clerk shall be the custodian of all instruments belonging to the village which are not assigned to the custody of some other officer. (1995 Code § 1.308)
   F.   Index: The clerk shall keep and maintain an index to all ordinances, documents, instruments and records kept by him in such manner that ready access thereto and use thereof may be had. (1995 Code § 1.309)
   G.   Additional Duties: The clerk shall perform such other duties and functions as may be required by statute or by the board. (1995 Code § 1.310)
