A. Obstructions: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to cause, create or maintain any obstruction of any street, alley, sidewalk or other public way, except as may be specifically authorized by ordinance or by the director of public works. (1995 Code § 5.105)
B. Encroachments: It shall be unlawful to erect or maintain any building or structure which encroaches upon or extends onto any public street, sidewalk, or property with the exception of mailboxes. Prior approval must be obtained from the director of public works and the streets and alleys committee before any mailbox can be erected within the village. A petition form shall be available from the village clerk. (Ord. 465, 9-17-2001)
