Any new structure commencing construction on or after April 1, 2021 must be built to a minimum elevation at or exceeding the base flood elevation for the walking surface of the lowest floor, as determined by the Zoning Administrator or Flood Plain Administrator. The term “lowest floor” applies to the top (or walking) surface of any basements, crawl spaces or slabs of any size.
