§ 1-201 APPOINTIVE OFFICERS.
   (A)   The Mayor, with the consent of the Council, may appoint such officers as shall be required by ordinance or otherwise required by law. Such officers may be removed from office by the Mayor.
   (B)   The Mayor, at the first regular meeting of the City Council held after he or she takes office, or as soon as he or she can reasonably do so, and in each subsequent year of his or her term, may appoint, with the advice and consent of the Council, a City Clerk, City Treasurer, City Engineer, City Attorney, City Administrator, Police Chief, Economic Development Director, Fire Chief, Water, Sewer, Gas, Electric and Street Superintendents, Zoning Administrator and Ambulance Director, who shall hold their offices for one year unless sooner removed by the Mayor. He or she shall also appoint whatever other officials of the city which he or she deems necessary, who shall also hold their offices for one year unless sooner removed by the Mayor.
