(A) Each officer of the Police Department shall report for assigned duty promptly unless excused by prior permission from the Town Marshal, or unless prevented by sickness, injury or conditions and circumstances beyond his or her control.
(B) If sickness, injury or conditions and circumstances beyond his or her control prevent his or her prompt reporting for duty, he or she shall immediately notify the Marshal of this fact.
(C) Failure to comply with the above requirements shall constitute absence without leave.
