§ 98.12  POPLAR TREES PROHIBITED.
Because of their natural proclivities for injuring sidewalks and sending out numerous long, fibrous roots which frequently enter and obstruct sewers, it is declared to be a public nuisance for any person owning or controlling any real estate within the town to permit any Caroline Poplar, Lombard Poplar, Volga Poplar or Silver Poplar tree to grow on his or her premises or on the street or lawn on which his or her real estate abuts, and which trees are within a distance of 150 feet of any improved sidewalk or any public sewer constructed by the town, either as a sanitary sewer or as a storm sewer.
