Whenever any motor vehicle which has been removed pursuant to this subchapter shall remain unsold for a period of 60 days from and including the day of its removal, the vehicle may be destroyed or otherwise disposed of by the City Council or other assign charged with its safekeeping. Notice of any destruction or disposition shall be given to the Minnesota Department of Motor Vehicles, the notice to include all information on which can be reasonably ascertained to identify the vehicle.
