925.07 DEPOSIT REQUIRED; REFUNDS.
   (a)   Effective September 6, 2018, Centerburg Village will no longer require utility deposits.
   (b)   Any person who paid a water deposit to the Village of Centerburg prior to the enaction of this section and whose water service has been terminated, for any reason, after this section is enacted is entitled to a refund of the deposit. The person who made the deposit may settle the service account in person with the Utility Billing Department at the Village Office. In the event the service account is not settled in person within thirty days after service has been terminated, then the Clerk-Treasurer shall refund the deposit, less any unpaid charges due under this chapter, to the person who made the deposit. All such refunds shall be sent within a reasonable time, to such person by ordinary mail to the address listed on the application for service or to such address that has been furnished in writing to the Utility Clerk or the Clerk-Treasurer. In the event the refund is not claimed within a one-year period, then the refund shall become the property of the Village and shall be deposited in the General Fund.
