549.08 POINTING AND DISCHARGING FIREARMS.
   (a)   No person shall discharge any air gun, rifle, shotgun, revolver, pistol or other firearm within the corporate limits of the Municipality, except as follows:
(1)   Hunting during the squirrel, rabbit and pheasant season on the Village owned utility farm during the legal hunting hours on Monday through Saturday, provided that a permit is obtained from the Village Administrator. No fee shall be charged for such a permit;
(2)   Use of the Police Firing Range, located on the Village utility farm, by police officers, for which permission may be granted by the Chief of Police; or
      (3)   Use of the firing range located on the Village utility farm by residents of the Village after granting of a permit by the Chief of Police.
   (b)   No person shall purposely or knowingly point or aim a firearm at or toward another or discharge a firearm so pointed or aimed.
   (c)   This section does not extend to cases in which firearms are used at special functions authorized by the Mayor, in self defense, in the discharge of official duty or in justifiable homicide.
   (d)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.
