Any elected official or employee of the Village who finds it necessary to pay for lodging and/or meals while such official or employee attends a function, conference or educational seminar on behalf of the Village or at the request or recommendation of Council be reimbursed for such lodging and/or meals expense to the amount permitted by the Internal Revenue Service for meals and lodging expense reimbursement for employees and shall continue to be based on the approved meals and lodging expense reimbursement set by the Internal Revenue Service in the future, whether that amount be increased or decreased from the current amount allowed, without necessity of further amendment to this section whenever there is a rate change approved by the Internal Revenue Service.
