The Fire Chief shall receive such pay, or salary, if any, as the City Council shall adopt, and pass, as it deems proper. If the City Council does not adopt, and pass, any pay, or salary, for the Fire Chief, the Fire Chief, all other officers, and volunteer firefighters shall be paid for such services as they are rendered based upon the number of calls answered. The City Council shall adopt the following pay schedule, which may be modified from time to time as deemed necessary. Each firefighter shall receive $5 for each fire call where water is used, $3 for each fire call where water is not used, $3 for each medical call, and $2 per month for attending all Fire Department meetings.
