§ 34.02 APPOINTMENT, REMOVAL OF FIRE CHIEF.
   The Fire Chief shall be nominated by Volunteer Fire Department members by a popular vote, and said nominee shall be presented to the Mayor for appointment. The Mayor shall make the final determination as to the appointment to the position of Fire Chief, taking into account the recommendation of Volunteer Fire Department members. A Fire Chief shall then be appointed by the Mayor, unless that appointment is disapproved by a two-thirds vote of the Council membership. The Mayor may remove the Fire Chief, unless such removal is overruled by a two-thirds vote of the Council membership.
