§ 150.011 MOVING OF HOUSES.
   (A)   The moving of houses shall be allowed in or out of the town’s jurisdiction only on Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. No more than one house may be moved on any given Wednesday and permits will be issued by town Building Inspection Department during regular operating hours on a first-come, first-serve basis. Manufactured homes shall be exempt from this section and must abide by North Carolina state laws and codes. Waivers to the Wednesday only policy shall be made by the Town Manager on an as needed basis.
   (B)   The following information is required to be submitted to the town Police Department a minimum of two weeks prior to the moving of a house within the town’s jurisdiction:
      (1)   Copy of applicable D.O.T. and town permits/licenses; and
      (2)   A dated letter giving two-week notification to the Police Department. The date of the notification letter shall be after the moving permit is issued by the town Building Inspection Department.
   (C)   That it shall further be the policy of the town that the mover shall erect signage on both sides of the Oak Island bridge prior to move, indicating the date and time that such a move will occur. These signs shall be erected five days prior to move and will be four feet by four feet in size with the ability to change date and time to correspond with each move. The mover will be responsible for removing said signage after the house moving is completed.
