§ 111.01 PEDDLING PROHIBITED; EXCEPTION.
   (A)   The activity of peddling within the town limits is expressly prohibited. For the purpose of this chapter, PEDDLING shall mean the selling, bartering or exchanging, renting, and the offering for sale of either an item of tangible personal property or a personal service unless the activity is conducted on property zoned commercial or designated for home occupation by the town's zoning ordinance. Peddling may not take place upon or along the streets, highways, beach strand, or public places of the town or from private property with or without the permission of the owner thereof, from any means of conveyance (including but not limited to a wagon, truck, car, pushcart), concession stand, or tent, or other movable receptacles of any kind.
   (B)   This chapter shall not apply to any activities that may fall within the above definitions that are engaged in for the support of any recognized religious or charitable purpose. However, those who solicit for these purposes are requested to notify the Chief of Police and Town Clerk of their intentions.
