The City Fire Marshal is authorized to investigate violations of any provision of this chapter related to the unlawful possession or transportation of explosives, blasting agents, ammunition or fireworks. The City Fire Marshal is authorized to receive explosives, blasting agents, ammunition or fireworks obtained by law enforcement officers or others. After consulting with the District Attorney’s office, these items may be stored or destroyed, as the Fire Marshal determines necessary to protect the public safety of the city, its employees and its citizens.
