It is unlawful for any person under the age of twenty one (21) years to possess any quantity of a substance containing cannabis. All violations under this section are to be prosecuted as civil law violations and are not criminal. The effect of this chapter shall be limited for purposes of municipal prosecution and shall have no effect or application to any offense or violation under the Illinois Criminal Code. Possession of any amount of cannabis pursuant to a duly authorized medical possession is not a violation of this section. (Ord. 2019-12, 2-25-2020)
