(A) In order to assure that owners of dangerous dogs are in compliance with the requirements of this chapter, and to assist in assuring compliance, every owner of a dangerous dog in the City of Carthage shall register the dog with the City Clerk of the City of Carthage. The registration shall include the following:
Name, address and telephone number of the dog's owner; the address where the dog is harbored, if different from the owner's address; a complete identification of the dog including the dog's sex, color, and any other distinguishing physical characteristics; proof of rabies vaccination; and proof of the liability insurance or other evidence of financial responsibility required pursuant to this chapter.
(B) Newly acquired dangerous dogs shall be registered with the City Clerk of the City of Carthage and the City's designated animal control officer no later than seventy two (72) hours of acquisition.
(C) Every owner, upon receipt of a dangerous dog notice, shall register the animal with the City Clerk within seventy two (72) hours of receipt of the dangerous dog notice. (Ord. 2015-3, 9-22-2015)
