The policemen shall obey all rules and regulations made by the Mayor or any committee so designated by him, and for any neglect or failure to obey the same or any call or orders of the Mayor or Chief of Police as their next superior officer, or for any other neglect of duty or misfeasance or malfeasance in office, shall, on conviction thereof be fined in a sum not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00).
