The Committee shall act as an advisory body to the Board and Town Manager. The Committee shall work with and confer with town staff, local non-profit groups, and business and community leaders to seek to improve town park and recreation facilities. The Committee shall review and recommend all policy changes occurring within the town park and recreation operations, including policies regarding use of facilities, undertake fundraising for improvements to town park and recreation facilities, shall recommend improvements, and shall assist the Town Manager in the creation of a development plan for town park and recreation facilities. The Committee shall also perform other duties as the Board may direct. Decisions made by the Committee shall be consistent with all codes and policies of the town. The Committee shall have a regular meeting each month, date and time to be decided at the organizational meeting, with special meetings called by the Chairperson. All meetings shall be held consistent with state open meetings laws.
