For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future, and words in the plural number include the singular number and vice versa. The word “shall” is always mandatory and not merely directory.
COUNTY. Where appropriate to the context, the area located within the geographic boundaries of the county, including the municipalities located herein.
MANAGER. A person immediately in charge of any park area and its activities, and to whom all park attendants of the area are responsible.
PARK. A park, recreation facility, playground, beach, recreation center, or any other area in the unincorporated portions of the county, owned or used by the county, and devoted to active or passive recreation.
PERSON. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company, or organization of any kind.
VEHICLE. Any wheeled conveyance, whether motor- powered, animal-drawn, or self-propelled or any motorized conveyance capable of flight. The term shall include any trailer in tow of any size, kind, or description.
